Task 3 : Design
1. Recap the task 3 brief
3. Sketches
4. Final Design
After analysing the design of my choice in task 2 I will produce a work of design that inspired by the one I had analysed in task 3 to show the topic :gender equality and the meaning : In the common cultural ideology of the society, women are always placed in a secondary position.
2. Visual References
3. Sketches
SKETCH 1
SKETCH 2
SKETCH 3
Out of my three sketches I choose the first one. This is because the
first sketch is a good representation of my chosen UN theme of gender
equality and shows that women are always living under the standards of
men. In my poster, I used irregular geometric shapes to show the male
and female figures, and used abstract minimalist design to show the
size of the male and the weakness of the female. In the background, I
used half light gray and dark red to show that women have been living
under the oppression of men although they have been given preferential
policies and treatment in the society. For the design principle, I
used the gestalt principle to separate the male head and arms (when
two patterns are put together, the human eye will put them together.
The contrast of shapes is used to show the oppressive nature of men
and the brokenness of women. The only bright color used in the poster
is white to show the male's eyes and the angle and movement of the
eyes to emphasize the focus on the female.
5. Feedback from the lecturer
The advice from the lecturer is the women shape inside is not look
like the women and don't have the concrete characteristic so
after that I did some adjustments.
