REFLECTION

Experience

Throughout the semester, advanced typography was perhaps the most challenging and educational lesson. Different creative techniques are needed for each work in order to meet the requirements. At the same time, every activity has underlying ideas and information that I might not have seen at first but learn about as I go along. As an artist and designer, this is an excellent time for me to assess my present skills and limitations.

Observation

The method of getting input from mentors and viewers is the most insightful observation. I've come to realize how important it is to have a thorough grasp of the artwork we produce ourselves since, while criticism might offer insightful advice, the designer ultimately has the last say. A better, more genuine piece of art is the result of striking a balance between following our own creative instincts and remaining receptive to outside influences.

Findings

The variation of typography is among the most significant discoveries I have made throughout this module. I've learned a lot of intriguing typographic concepts that I can't seem to use in the work. I will definitely investigate and test these concepts in the future, though. I've also started paying more attention to typography and design in my daily environment. I now see the world differently as a result of this viewpoint change, which enables me to find inspiration in more visual components.
