FINAL REFLECTION
Working on the assignments for this Design Research Dissertation module allowed me to build upon the skills and knowledge I gained from the previous module, which centered on Design Research Methodology. Since the tasks in this module were based on the research data collected last semester, I was able to reflect on my previous experiences and enhance my insights with my lecturer's guidance while drafting my research dissertation. I also learned that writing a dissertation requires not only a deep understanding of the subject matter but also a thorough knowledge of the dissertation's structure—it's crucial to recognize the purpose of each section and how they interrelate to form a cohesive research narrative, especially in reinforcing the significance of my research objectives and questions. Furthermore, understanding the purpose of each chapter helped me identify a more effective writing approach to align with my research goals. I also valued the inclusion of a task in this module that involved creating a digital flipbook of our dissertation. The entire process of investigating and selecting an appropriate book design in relation to the theme and subject of my research was enjoyable, and I appreciated the opportunity to convey my preferred design style within the context of my study. Furthermore, I noted that citation and paraphrasing play a vital role in research, as they not only identify the source of information but also substantiate and reinforce your arguments and analyses. Submitting my research dissertation to Turnitin was beneficial in helping me identify areas where my citations were lacking or incomplete, enabling me to enhance my attention to detail in the future. The final task of preparing for article publication was also a novel experience for me, where I learned to condense my writing according to the specified format and structure. Finally, I am thankful for the opportunity to attend weekly consultation hours and receive valuable feedback from my lecturer, Dr. Chuiyin, which helped me to establish a clearer writing direction while working on each assignment.
