LECTURERS
Week 7
We received a briefing on the assignment from Mr. Hafiz. We were
given the task of making an animated Frank Sinatra record cover. One
song must be selected by us. We had to draw out basic concepts,
determine the plot, write and animate a "moment" based on the
knowledge from the selected song, and appreciate the beauty and
lyrics.
Typography with illustrations needs to be used. Background,
midground, and foreground must all be taken into account and
depicted. It is advised to embrace artistic styles including Art
Nouveau, Pop Art, Minimalism, and Retro.
Week 8 (Independent Learning Week)
Week 9
Mr. Hafiz presented the Adobe Illustrator Pencil tools this past
week. It's a flexible tool for sketching by hand. It replicates
the feeling of sketching with a real pencil on paper and lets you
make both open and closed paths.
Mr. Hafiz then added the Type on Path Tool. It's a strong feature
that lets you align text with the contours of a path or form. With
the help of this tool, you can easily incorporate text into your
graphics and create dynamic text designs.
We are urged to research and replicate the works of other artists
using the Image Trace & Exapnd tool for this
task.
Week 10
Mr. Hafiz briefed the audience on envelope distortion,
blending mode, and 2D interweave.
The following advice and guidelines are provided:
-When drawing a shape, hold Alt to draw from the
centre.
-Select "Convert selected anchor points to corner" by using
the direct selection tool. By doing this, the rounded corner
will take on a shape.
-Object > Expand; convert the dashed line to a stroke
and then a fill.
-The form that serves as the distort reference for an
envelope must be at the top.

TASK 2: Decisive Moment
Assignment 1: Fly me to the Moon
2.1 Album cover
2.2 Animated album cover
Assignment 1: Fly me to the moon
First, I began by researching several art movements, like Pop
Art, Art Nouveau, and Retro Art.

Sketch
I choose the song" The way you look tonight" . At first I
wanted to eat create a low
pixel style album cover to interpret the lyrics. Then I
sketched out some initial ideas.
Fig. 2.4 Sketch , Week 11
Rationale:
-Genre: Jazz
- Elements: Moon, House, a couple, stars, clouds.
When I first heard this song, it felt very ambiguous, so the first thing that came to my mind was a couple looking at each other and talking on the roof, with ambiguity and romance in the air. There is a big bright moon outside, full of love. There are also bright stars dotted in between. Such an atmosphere and scene makes me feel that it goes well with the song.So in my illustration I will use the process o transitioning from cold colours to bright colours to express the mood of the man.
I choose to used cool colours which are mainly used in pixel art style.
Storyline:
Ethan and jasmine became a couple, Ethan felt sad and low because of the pressure of life, he felt that the world had abandoned him, but it was jasmine, the girl who healed him and made him feel the goodness of the world, he felt that this girl was very special, very good, very cute and beautiful. He enjoyed the time he spent with this girl.

Fig. 2.6 Moodboard , Week 11
This is my first composition and more detailed cersion. I felt when it be come to the pixel art style it's not clean so I made some change.

FEEDBACK
WEEK 9: Mr. Hafiz advised me to consider the visual leading when determining the cover's focal point. Additionally, maintain a clean portion of the cover to contrast with the focal area.
WEEK 3: keep continue doing and complete the e- portfolio.
REFLECTION
I discovered a lot of fascinating stuff while working through exercises and finishing assignments in Task 2. By learning about blending options, the interweave tool, and envelope distortions, I was able to use Adobe Illustrator more proficiently. Nevertheless, I am aware of the value of layers, how to organise them, and how to create animations. Making an album cover also allowed me to learn more about colour science and how to select appropriate colours for my artwork, as well as to experiment with visualising words and lyrics.
